The Conference on the Church for God’s Glory

Dear Pastor,

In May of 2003 First Baptist Church of Rockford, Illinois hosted its first Conference On the Church for God’s Glory.  Since then pastors from Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa have gathered every year on the third Monday in May to enjoy great preaching, workshops, and fellowship. The CCGG is a very full one day conference designed to encourage, uplift, and inform fundamental Baptist pastors, deacons, and church leaders. Speakers from previous years include Kevin Bauder, Doug McLachlan, Rolland McCune, Dave Doran, Tony Fox, John Makujina, and Gerald Priest.  This year’s speakers include David Saxon, Ed Panosian, and Jeff Straub.

The theme of the 2009 CCGG (Monday, May 18) is Battles, Past & Present. Today many basic tenets of biblical orthodoxy are being challenged. We must respond by faithfully standing for truth regardless of the consequences.  This year’s CCGG will encourage and equip us as we consider the battles of yesterday and today. We will learn from the struggles of C. H. Spurgeon and our fundamentalist forefathers who stood for biblical orthodoxy in a climate of compromise. We will be challenged to continue the battle for truth today. We will also learn valuable lessons from the lives and ministries of John Knox and Hugh Latimer. Since we provide meals, there will also be plenty of time for close fellowship.

At last year’s CCGG we added a bookroom in which Christian publishers displayed some of their best resources.  Each publisher generously provided one gift book to our registrants. Everyone who attended last year left with $300 worth of books under their arm. This year’s publishers include Crossway Books, Presbyterian & Reformed, Mentor Press, BJU Press, Kregel Publishing, Master Books, Focus Publications, Shepherd’s Publishing, Reformation Heritage Books, Friends of Israel Press, and more. The preaching, teaching, and fellowship will bless you, and the free ministry resources will continue to bless you.
